Yvonne Faye Murphy 1947-2022 Obituary

Yvonne Faye Murphy, 74, a resident of Elkins, West Virginia, departed this life for her home in Heaven on Monday, April 18, 2022. Yvonne was born August 3, 1947, to the late Henry Jasper Arbogast and Wilda Marie Arbogast. On July 6, 1964, she united in marriage to Carl Ray Murphy, who survives her at their home in Elkins.

She was blessed with four sisters and two brothers; Wanda Reed, Jerry L. Arbogast, Kathleen Arbogast Pfoff, the late Linda S. Roop, the late Sharon L. Arbogast, and Mark H. Arbogast. She is survived by one son, Carl Ray Murphy II, and wife, Holly A. Bradbury, Colorado Springs, CO. Five Grandchildren; Carl Ray Murphy III and wife Mandelyn, Kortney Vey Sandy, husband Joshua, and children, Jack Victor Chance, Landon Thomas Chance, and Benjamin Michael Chance.

Ten Great-grandchildren; Nickie, Natalia, Ayden, Breyden, Mathew, Colby, Bryan, Robert, and the late Chase Levi also survive.

As a young child, Yvonne moved to Baltimore, MD, where she grew up before returning to West Virginia, spending a little time in Philippi before settling down in her home in Elkins, WV. Yvonne was a caregiver in the literal sense and much more to everyone in her life. Sending cards to everyone she loved, for all occasions, or just to say, “I love you, and I am thinking about you.” She always had others in her thoughts and prayers, a selfless lady that put her prayers to paper in a prayer book;

I will share some of my mother’s words. “Loved by Parents. My precious child, wherever your journey in life may take you, I pray you will always be safe, enjoy the ride, and never forget your way back home.” Prayer for Grandchildren, “Lord, keep my grandchildren safe in this world. Guide them away from harm and help them to have a wonderful life. Hear my prayers. Amen” “Lord, as I watch Aaron on the camera fighting to live, I see you helping him to become stronger and gain weight; let him feel the love you have for him and the love his family has for him”. “Lord, save my family, please.” She stayed faithful and determined to serve the Lord until he took her home. She will be greatly missed by us all.

Yvonne’s request for cremation was honored. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Lynn Ryder officiating. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Yvonne Faye Murphy.
